Of course you want results and in our fast paced, instant gratification life, you want them NOW! I hear ya, I'm not patient either. So I pulled together Beauty Hacks and a few Skincare DON'T to get your skin smooth, plump, clear and glowing sooner than you can say Me Time Botanicals. :) Ok ok, that was a shameless plug but you get my drift.
I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat wondering how to level up your skincare routine, right?! These easy skincare hacks and skincare don'ts will help guide the way!
1. Simplify your Skincare Routine
Short on time or on a tight budget? Simplify your skincare routine with products that target multiple concerns and have more than one use!
For example, try an oil cleanser that can also be used as an overnight mask. Or Clean Slate as a hand and cuticle cream too!
Using too many products can be irritating to your skin and you'll never know what is actually working.
2. Treat yourself to a facial massage
There are soooo many facial tools out there..but you have 2 already that won't cost you a penny. Your hands! Use them to give yourself a facial massage. It is more than just a great way to de-stress and relax; it has a TON of skin benefits too! It's a great way to decrease muscle tension, boost circulation and blood flow, and soften expression lines. The best news is, it's really easy to perform a facial massage at home with your hands and your favorite facial balm for added slip.
3. Keep it clean
Your hands come in contact with SO MANY surfaces during the day! So make sure those hands are squeaky clean before starting your skincare routine to avoid introducing things like dirt and bacteria to your skin.
Bonus hack: Make sure you're regularly cleaning your makeup brushes and disinfecting your phone. It can make a huge difference in your skin.
4. Change Pillowcases and Sheets Weekly
Sweat, oils, dirt, dead skin cells build up pillowcase which can end up causing breakouts. So make sure you're washing your sheets and changing your pillow cases weekly.

5. Hydrate your Body
Give your skin (and yourself) enough water daily. Give your skin a drink of water using a hydrating toner or serum after cleansing, and always use an appropriate moisturizer for your skin type. But don't stop there! Drinking enough water every day is a must, too. Take your body weight in lbs divide by 2. This is the amount of water you need in oz daily.
6. Apply your skincare to damp skin
Speaking of hydration, your skin is last to receive all the water you're drinking. So misting your skin and applying your skincare to damp skin maximizing absorption of your serums and moisturizer.
7. Bring it all down
I don’t know who needs to hear this but your face stops at your boobs (or chest for you men). Bring your skincare products down all the way down to your neck and décolleté. And while you're at it, make sure to implement a simple skincare routine for your body too!
8. Wash your Body AFTER Shampooing and Conditioning your Hair
If you're struggle with body acne, make sure you're washing your body AFTER you shampoo and condition because sometimes the emollient ingredients in your condition could be clogging your pores.
9. Do your PM Skincare Routine 15 Minutes before you Hit the Sheets
You don't want your skincare soaking into your pillow or sheets. So enjoy your skincare ritual 15 minutes before going to bed.
10. Show your "imperfect" skin some love!
Say it with me: perfect skin doesn't exist. Having a good skincare routine isn't about achieving perfection; it's about keeping your skin happy and healthy and indulging in a few minutes of Me Time every day. So take some time every day to remind yourself of the things you LOVE about your skin.
11. Go Foundation Free and Flaunt your Glow
Ever notice that when you go makeup free, you skin ends up looking even better. Often foundation can clog your pores, settle into fine lines, making your skin look not so good. I remember spending so much time when I was younger, piling on the concealer and foundation on top of breakouts and looking back on those pictures..that did NOT look good. Luckily, when you're skincare is on point, you can feel confident to go foundation free.
Apply a coat of mascara, your favorite lipstick and maybe a cheek color or bronzer for a simple minimalist look.
12. Got Mayo?
If you're hair needs a little extra moisture, slather on mayo for 15 minutes then wash it out if you don't have Nourish Me on hand.
13. For a Dewy Foundation
If you are going to wear foundation, and like a dewy finish, add a couple drops of Glow Getter Serum to your foundation for a lightweight and dewy glow.
Oh and you don't NEED a makeup primer! Prepping your skin with a facial mist and a good serum/moisturizer will do the trick. Foundation layers over Glow Getter beautifully and even makes your foundation stay on for longer.
14. Love Perfume? Don't rub your wrist together after applying
It's a habit worth breaking, when you rub your wrist together after misting on perfume, you break down the fragrance molecules which dissipate the fragrance more quickly.
BONUS DO: Instead mist the inside of your elbows so you don't wash your perfume down the drain every time you wash your hands.
15. DON'T skip the SPF
Sunscreen does it all! UV rays from the sun cause sunburn, break down collagen and elastin in our skin, and cause hyperpigmentation. Sunscreen protects you from all of that and, most importantly: sunscreen saves lives by protecting you from skin cancer. So make sure to apply a generous amount of sunscreen every day, rain or shine!
16. DON'T do too much of a good thing
Regular cleansing and exfoliating is a must in any great skincare routine, BUT it's possible to over-cleanse and over-exfoliate, which can cause problems for your skin. So try to keep cleansing to no more than twice a day and exfoliating to no more than 2-3 times a week!
17. You DON'T Need to try Everything
With all the skincare launches every day, it can be tempting to try that latest serum or the newest cleaner because they promises all the things. But just don't! If your current skincare routine is working, why wreck a good thing. Your skin needs consistency, so if you're constantly slathering on the latest trend, your skin can become irritated or breakout. That's not worth it.
Which brings me to if you are trying a new product....
18. DON'T expect overnight results
I TOTALLY understand the frustration of starting a new skincare routine and not seeing results right away. But patience is key. Skincare products can take time to do their jobs, so if you're not seeing results right away, take a deep breath and stay consistent!
Try these hacks to get your best skin ever. Here's my favorites to keep your skin glowing.
